WWdoc Pi Font
WWdoc PI is a family of 17 fonts created to include most known
characters that can exist in a math expression. Exhaustive
research and interviews with Utah State University math professors
determined a list of characers and character standards.
From this list a style format standard was determined and over
a thousand characters were created with the same stroke-weight,
baseline deflection, and overall appearance. This font is
available in Type 1 postscript version for the Macintosh,
TrueType and Type 1 postscript for the PC. This protects
from loss of characters when transporting across platforms.
A character created, initially, for the PC platform will
have the same keystroke and font representative when moved
to the Macintosh.
Also, characters in WWdoc PI are only created from keyboard
strokes, which means that Alt characters (which cannot be
recreated on a Macintosh) and Option characters (which cannot
be created on a PC) are not mapped, thus creating a more
accurate transition.
MathMonarch also includes a WWTimesTen, WWHelvetica,
and WWPalatino font family which include a roman, bold,
italic, bold italic, and math versions.
The TrueType version of WWdoc PI can be disributed freely
to end users so that documents created with MathMonarch will
accurately display all math characters.
The WWdoc PI fonts are installed in your system when you
install MathMonarch. The fonts should be accessable through
any font menu inside of Microsoft Word. The font names
are WWdoc01 through WWdoc17.
